Delay Sports Berlin e.V. : Where football and the digital world meet
In 2021, together with Elias Nerlich and Sidney Friede, we founded the Delay Sports Berlin e.V. association with the clear vision of creating something extraordinary, a transfer of football from the digital pitch to the analogue pitch that would create a completely new football community.
Elias Nerlich, known throughout Germany for his successful career as a streamer on the Twitch platform, and Sidney Friede, a former professional footballer and now also a successful content creator, wanted to combine their passions – football and interaction with their community. As Eli and Sid’s management, who also support them in their private lives, it was only natural for us to accompany them on this project. We at RABONA are part of the founding group and have been supporting them on the board with our network and expertise ever since.
The success of Delay Sports goes far beyond its sporting achievements. The club has developed into a brand that transcends the boundaries of football. Thanks to the close connection between content creators, former professional footballers, social media and football culture, Delay Sports has been able to build up an enormous reach in a short space of time, with the result that the club is now one of the top 15 clubs in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga. Special feature is that Delay Sports has decided not to sponsor a jersey and instead wears the logo of German Cancer Aid on its chest. Together with Elias and Sidney, we are constantly working on expanding the club, launching new projects and positioning the Delay Sports brand even more strongly in the public eye. Today, Delay Sports is not just a football club, but a symbol of the fusion of digital media and traditional sport, which aims to reintroduce children and young people to traditional sport and inspire them to play it. The story of Delay Sports shows how a passion and a creative vision can lead to a brand that inspires fans and sets new standards in both football and digital entertainment.
